This Privacy Policy explains how ChargeCheck may collect, use, retain, disclose, and protect information when you use chargecheck.ca. By using the site or submitting information through it, you consent to the practices described here, subject to applicable law.

Information we may collect

We may collect information you enter or submit, including vehicle, driving-distance, province or territory, electricity-rate, tariff, charger, and calculator selections. We may also receive technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location inferred from IP, timestamps, cookies, and interaction data.

How we use submitted data

We may collect, store, use, analyze, and retain submitted and technical information to operate and secure the calculator, provide and improve estimates and program comparisons, understand site performance and visitor interests, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, and develop site features. We may create aggregated or de-identified data that does not reasonably identify you.

Advertising, cookies, and service providers

We use third-party services to operate the site and display advertising, including Cloudflare and Google AdSense. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect information about your device and activity to deliver, measure, and personalize ads where permitted. Their processing is governed by their own policies and settings. You can manage cookies in your browser and advertising preferences through the relevant provider.

Sharing and retention

We may share information with service providers that help host, secure, analyze, or advertise on the site, with program providers only where you separately choose to interact with them, or when required by law. We do not sell personally identifying calculator inputs as a standalone product. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it when appropriate.

Your choices and requests

Please do not submit sensitive personal information, payment information, account credentials, or information about another person. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or ask a privacy question, by emailing privacy@chargecheck.ca. We may need to verify your request and may retain limited information where permitted or required by law.

Security and changes

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. This policy may change as the site or our practices change; the current version will be posted here with its updated date.
